Simon Lee is currently working as a Researcher in the Chair of Architecture and Construction at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University Munich (TUM) in 2012 and 2014 respectively. During his studies, he specialized on Composite Materials, particularly through various Research Assistantships, internships and research projects at the Institute for Carbon Composites (TUM) and the BMW Group. In his Master’s Thesis, which was part of a joint research project by the BMW Group and MAI Carbon, Simon focused on the conceptual development and structural analysis of a novel design and manufacturing method for composite materials.
Simon’s research at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore focuses on the optimization and advancement of Bamboo Fiber Composites. His work aims to apply Carbon Composite processing standards as well as analytical methods to Bamboo Fiber Composite materials. Therefore, Simon’s main research goals are the improvement of Bamboo Fiber Composite processing methods and the further improvement of the mechanical and physical properties of Bamboo Fiber Composites.
