Sharan Sudhindra is an architect and urban designer currently working as a researcher at the Future Cities Laboratory (FCL). He received his undergraduate degree in Architecture and Interior Design from Anna University, India and then went on to pursue his Masters degree in Urban Design at the School of Design and Environment - National University of Singapore. In 2014, he founded ‘Atelier Now Architects’ which is an architectural practice based in Madras, South India which amongst other things focuses on region specific design and research. He is a licensed architect with the Council of Architecture – India and an associate member of the Indian Institute of Architects. His prior experiences include working at Rahul Mehrotra’s practice (RMA Architects) in Mumbai, later as a researcher with the IFOU (International Forum on Urbanism) and then at the land planning division of the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC), Singapore.
Sharan’s current research interests focus on ‘Organized Chaos’ – which involves the study and growth of cities in the Asian subcontinent (Bangladesh, China and India in particular) and their hinterlands.
